Contract Drafting 101

Contract drafting is a service that The Kendrick Law Group performs for many of our clients. Seeking proper legal advice to effectively draft a contract is critical to the success for your business relationships.

What is a contract?  Generally, a contract is a written or spoken agreement that is intended to be enforceable by law. Written contracts are typically more reliable and provide less risk versus spoken agreements. Spoken agreements often lead to discrepancies over the parties’ intent, performance, and breach.

Things to Consider When Drafting a Contract

  1. Use language that is specific to your business and the services you will provide or that you are expecting

  2. Explicitly state what you are expecting from the other party

  3. Explicitly state what the other party should expect from you

  4. Ensure that the contract includes language specifically related to the industry you work in

  5. Ensure that the language in the contract is clear

The Kendrick Law Group is prepared to draft your contracts for all of your business needs. We understand that your business is important to you and we strive to effectively and efficiently assist you in obtaining and maintaining your success. Contact us today! (407) 641-5847
